    Hi,

I tried a set of vintage jazz bass pickups in my orginal '75 jazz and ended up buying a set of 60's custom shops...

It depends what sound you want. The vintages had a really nice sound with smooth top end but not enough growl for me and not enough output. they were to polite.

The customshop 60's have higher output, more bass and bigger more growly mids. personally this was much better for me.
