Vinyl wrap pickguards

    Fellas,

    I have the MIM Fender Deluxe Special Precision Bass. I would like to wrap the pickguard. I was wondering if anyone has done this before? Would you use some sort of adhesive contact paper or a vinyl wrap?

    Was kinda trying to keep the cost down on this idea. anyone by chance?

    I used checkered contact paper on a pickguard.

    I was thinking of doing the same thing.

    If you use contact paper, I thought you could put a clear cover sticker over the top if you wanted the shiny look.

    MIJ Fender Mustang RI neck, Squier Bronco body, Squier Musicmaster bridge, EMG Strat pickup, Hopshot U/L Tuners, contact papered pickguard, Fender Jazz bass knobs.

    Never done a pickguard, but I did a battery cover for a Deluxe J with some carbon fiber decal material.

    Just get some vinyl and stick it on there. It's as straight forward as you're thinking.
