Violin Bass with V/V/T and more modern bridge?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Naviiin, Aug 3, 2020.

  1. Hi guys, just stumbled across this Duesenberg Violin Bass and GAS struck me hard. But dammit, Duesenberg discontinued it, aren't thinking about producing it again and these basses go for at least twice the price of one when it was new on the 2nd hand market. So does anyone know a manufacturer who kinda does the same thing, preferably under or around a 1000 and in Europe? Thanks!

The Duesenbergs look(ed) terrific. I wish more companies would make an updated violin bass. The Epiphone Viola bass probably comes closest with its VVT wiring and bass-size tuners, but it still uses the old-style floating bridge.

  3. Yeah, the Epi is nice but I always thought the looks were a bit off, shape wise and with that piece of plastic around the knobs. And yeah, that bridge...Bit too fiddly for my tastes.

  4. Anyone? :)
