Windows PCs face 'huge' virus threat

    HOTFIX:
    http://www.grc.com/sn/notes-020.htm

One like the above URL is a vulnerability scan and the other is a fix until microsoft can put out a patch.

Pff, I haven't updated Windows in 4 years. All you have to do is not be stupid, and you're safe. I know more people who have gotten "patches" from MS that destroy their machines than have gotten viruses.

    Not get it....

(I know I'm not Snarf, but he's right about viruses, they're easy to avoid. I do reccomend updating windows though)

This one is actually pretty dangerous, if you're viewing a website in Internet Explorer that contains a picture that exploits the vulnerability, some script kiddie could do anything to your computer.

Simple solution. Don't use IE. :p

Though I know Firefox is kinda getting long in the tooth.

And if some script kiddie runs any sniffers on me, I have connections over at the Cult of the Dead Cow.

  15. Is this only a problem in Internet Explorer? Because I only use Firefox.

    I know, I've been using Mozilla/Firefox since late 2002 or so. :p

I know some people have been bashing Firefox left and right but I simply can't get used to Opera.

Of course, if you download a wmf that has been tempered with and view it in a picture viewer, using an alternative browser won't help you either.
