i have a line on a really nice cab at a REALLY good price. however the cab has some damage to the voice coils on the speakers. can this be repaired or will i have to buy replacement speakers in stead?

Usually voice coils are not "repaired'. Most commonly that would require reconing the speaker and the voice coil is an integral part of the new cone. Many Peavey drivers (Black Widows and Scorpions) use field replaceable magnet structures; you buy new "baskets" from a Peavey dealer and swap them out yourself. It's my understanding that having a professional recone normally costs about 30%-50% the price of a new speaker.

if it helps it is an EA cabinet. new speakers are gonna cost 300 for the pair. not really wanting to pay x amount of dollars when i am gonna have to sink 300 bucks into the repair.
