For Sale Voirin French Bow

Discussion in 'For Sale: Bows' started by jameshpeterson, Apr 9, 2018.

  1. Price:
French bow made in 1880 and attributed to Francois Voirin. A fantastic bow, once owned and played on my the Principal Bass of the Cleveland Orchestra in the mid 20th century. This bow has been played in multiple of the big five orchestras and I am very lucky to have gotten to perform on it for two years now.

It pulls a very rich sound and is very easy to maneuver. It is really terrific for solo playing, but also is competitive as an orchestral bow. It weighs 142 grams. The bow shows signs of age, manifesting in spots of worn down varnish, but other than that it is in perfect playing condition. IMG_2637.JPG IMG_2638.JPG IMG_2640.JPG IMG_2641.JPG IMG_2642.JPG
