    Hello All,

I'm going to be installing a set of 9J's in a MIM jazz along with an NTBT preamp. The 9J's call for a 250K control, and the preamp uses a 25K.

If I wanted to do an active / passive switch, what value control should I use? What are the issues of using the 25K passive or the 250K active? Is it worth the effort?

    Thanks,
    Sean

Are you getting the NTBT with Volume + Blend, or Volume + Volume?

For the former, I think you need a 25k for the Volume (it goes after the preamp) and 250k for the blend (goes between pickups and preamp).

Edit: but for passive mode this puts a 25k pot after the pickups, which isn't good. Sooo. . .I'm not sure! I think I didn't answer your question at all? :(

For the latter, use 250k for both volumes (they go between the pickups and the preamp).
