Is there a way to add a volute to a neck if there wasnt one in the first place. Neck split at nut area and want to reinforce after repair. Any Ideas

    Thanks in advance

You need to create a flat area at the neck/headstock transition, pre shape the add on volute, then place and glue the volute in place. Clamp in place over night, then sand to smooth the new piece flush with neck, and finish. Pretty straight forward.

  4. Hi.

I've done a volute only if there's enough room for one and if the neck is so thin to begin with that I feel it'll add some strenght (Gibson Firebird).

A volute just for the sake of adding one is seldom feasible, but jusgt like mikeyswood already asked, pics might help.

    Regards
    Sam
