Have you any suggestion regarding a VST for bass (MAC version)?
Music genre: rock, hard rock, metal.
I want to buy a bass guitar and want ONLY play through my USB-interface --> DAW (reaper)--> VST amp --> VST cab.
Are there good sounding free versions available?
Or affordable one? --> not too expensive.
My goal is to reach a decent sounding bass for my mixes.

  3. Jst bass forge looks solid, Ampeg svx, Nueral Dsp Darkglass plugin, tse sansamp sim, Positivegrid Bias, and Helix native all should be perfect for getting good bass tones for metal and im certain others can chime in with more.
    Rickter and headbanger70 like this.

I would try the two in the last link, lots of usable tones for metal can be achieve with them. Don't forget to get some cab impulse responses and you'll be good.
