I couldn't find a post stating when these will be available. Does anyone know? I think this is the missing piece of the puzzle I've been waiting for.

According to the Tech 21 homepage: July.

Realistically I'd add a month or two, I read somewhere they have production problems.

I have one pre-ordered, and the dealer tells me they won't be receiving any until late July.

I'm holding on for now because I think it will be worth the wait.

I've heard everything from component availability to paint.

I still think Tech21 is a good outfit.

I've been told I can switch to the paradriver, with the parametric mid, but 500Hz is the center of the VTBass DI mid, and that's where I run any parametric mid, anyhow.

    Your mileage may vary.

And the Deluxe programmable version looks like a viable option.
I just didn't want to cough up the extra sixty bucks right now.

Got a Vintage Bass Rockman I might sell, though...

I hope there's some good news on these soon. I've been considering the Aguilar Tone Hammer (more dollars, especially with the 18 volt power supply), and the Tech 21 Para Driver, too.

Not so sure I need the six presets of the VT Deluxe, or even the three of my PBDR. So maybe it will come up for sale, too.

Hope it doesn't go on much longer....

I have one pre-ordered from Sweetwater Music. They called me last week 7/18/13 and said they are still waiting on Tech21. With the back log of orders and tech21 having some problems with parts, I would say at best we will not see them until the end of August IMO.

    I have no new news
Just came to claim a chair in this waiting room and browse through three month old magazines.

I just saw an update from them. (the factory)

They "hope to be shipping by the end of next week".

  9. Sweetwater said if you pre order now, they would be shipping around end of August

It just seems to go on forever...

After first hearing of these in multiple reports from winter NAMM, and then hearing of delays on top of delays, I thought I was safe pre-ordering one around July 1.

Then the July 20 ship date got pushed back.

Now it's August 3 and still not a word about any being shipped.

    Starting to wonder about Tech21...

I'm starting to think this pedal is only a myth...

  13. Yeah, I am starting to look at other brands now, I really don't want to wait

Trying to change my pre-order to a Para Driver.

I don't want, and will not accept a mid locked in to 1KHz.

    That's unusable for me.
And in my case is a total game changer.

Nobody's perfect, I understand mistakes, but at least they caught their own typo before one landed at my door.

I thought I read that the eq points were adjustable somehow.

    True?

Is the VT Bass DI different than the VT Bass in that way?

I believe the mid was 500hz on the VT Bass.

I've been told that all the VT bass products have the mid centered at 1KHz. And that the online manual is a typo.

Trying to verify with the factory...

At least with the Para driver I can put the mid frequency where I want it. I typically run a parametric mid at 500Hz, so the VT Bass DI did look like a good unit for me.

Your mileage may vary. I know the VT stuff is VERY popular, but I usually go for more of a clean tone, anyway.

Yeah, if you want a clean, uncoloured tone the VT is not for you. You might have better luck with the Tone Hammer DI pedal.
