Hi, A lot of people here may have heard by now about Wabass, the week-long bass camp in Indiana with Hal Robinson, Ranaan Meyer, and Eric Larson. This year, I wanted to let you guys know about Wabass Workshop, taking place June 13-16 in Philadelphia at the Curtis Institute of Music. Ranaan Meyer, bassist for the cutting edge trio Time for Three and Joseph Conyers, the new assistant principal of Philadelphia are the instructors there. Similar to the Indiana Wabass, the workshop will feature daily masterclasses, orchestral rep classes, and private lessons with Meyer and Conyers. Topics for classes will include audition preparation, improvisation, and student-chosen topics. This is a great opportunity to study the bass with two of the hottest young bass players in America right now! Wabass Workshop provides a crossroads where students of all backgrounds and schools interact and share ideas in a totally open environment. We've developed a program to help young bass students by bringing together the best and most motivated students from around the country, and you should be one of them. The fee for the workshop will be $600, which includes lunches for each day of the workshop. For more details, check out the Wabass Workshop website and email Brent Edmondson at email@example.com. The application is also attached.
