So how do you play with all the ironmongery in the way? Seriously if one wanted to wham a bass the option of where the arm went could be useful.
why would you want to control the strings differently? also, you go out of tune real bad with those things andi hear you break strings a lot
If your strings are properly stretched, and you aren't bending them up a fifth, then they shouldn't break too often. Going out of tune is the same, but they will go out of tune more than a bass with a fixed bridge. Very cool invention...I just can't imagine finding a use for me.
There used to be a guy in town...Barry Dunaway, used to play with Malmsteen. He had one of those things and what HE was capable of with it...was amazing. Pretty much eliminates the need for a fretless and so much more.
Its easier if you have 3 or 4 hands...imagine slapping while whamming..... I guess, the next wicked invention will be a foot controlled whammy bass bridge or flexible neck that allow us to do Billy Sheehan's neck bend easily using only a fingertip It's crazy world we live....
