Waddayaknow! It sounds better in the other room.

So I'm in my usual practice room (approx 10x14) playin' along with Midnight Train to Georgia, tryin' to learn it. Standin' right in front of my practice amp (Fender Bassman 25), it doesn't sound too impressive, kinda muddy, kinda hard to hear.

So then I walk out in the hall and play from there with my bass amp still in the other room. Waddayaknow! The sound of my bass gets much tighter and much easier to hear. Real nice! Is that ME playing?

Not happy with your tone? Can't be heard over your drummer in rehearsal? Maybe it's not your rig. Maybe you don't need more power. Maybe it's where you're standing or how you're EQed. The rig is only one of many variables.

I'm just sayin', that's all. :bassist:
