waiting on taxis

Random rant about taxis. I got of of work at 2:15 this morning. Called a cab at 2:10, and they said "we'll be there in 15 minutes". I went outside, lit a cigarette, and waited...and waited...and waited...when 3:00 rolls around, I pull out my cell phone and call another cab company. They show up in 11 minutes. I got to work this morning at 10, and watched the parking lot camera footage starting at 2:30 AM. See myself getting into the cab at 3:12 AM, and keep watching. A cab from the first place I had called pulls into the parking lot at 3:27. Normally, I have to wait about 25-35 minutes for a cab...it's after 2 AM, I work a 15 minute drive from downtown, so I understand a little bit of waiting. But over an hour? That's insane. At least when I told the guy who showed up about it, he decided to make the run off of the meter and saved me $5, which was really cool of him since it wasn't even his company that was late.

Anyway, to make a long story short, if any of you are ever in Columbia, SC and need a cab, don't call Checker Yellow...call Capitol City instead
