Ok, decided against the Buckeye burl based on their limited choices, none of which were what I was looking for...so I am going to go with a Zircote in gloss (yes, they can do that)..

These are the 4 choices I have... I don't want to bias the poll, so I'm not going to put down what my personal favorite is, but I do want to see if there will be any confirmation of what I like, or am I off the deep end?

Thank you for your opinions.. The options will be A,B,C or D in the order displayed from A to D. **Apologies if poll show's C for the 4th choice, I intended to type D**

Gloss is really going to make the grains pop. So if there's any random light spots they're going to really jump out and be more noticeable.

seems like A has the most light in the grain from what I can see...

    D, no doubt.
The wood looks better overall imo, especially with the handy 'shop visualization via @kulit17 , the way the grain "wraps" around the bridge seals the deal.

A would definitely be my choice. There's more interesting stuff going on in the grain, especially out towards the sides of the body. I also like the way the centre line "tapers" out from the neck, it gives it a lot of balance.

among my friends, that is the one that's in the lead... I like the lighter colors out the outskirts ... would love to fuse A and D, but between the two A is starting to talk to me

In the mock-ups I like "B" - it looks like the body is grabbing the fretboard, and tapering out at the bottom.

The good news of course is that all of these are going to be very sweet under the finish shine.

I also vote B. The thick center stripe fits around the electronics and hardware the best, and out on the wings, the grain is straight but wavy. This one slaps the hardest for me.

yes, indeed they are and the finish adds cost too as gloss on this type of wood isn’t easy to do.

I chose B for the the exact same reason - that center strip reaching up and grabbing the neck/fretboard.

That is a great reference. I was thinking option B would look funky with a neck because of the light colored part sticking out and it does. That would bother me forever, but I picked the least popular option apparently so YMMV etc.

Ziricote makes for a really nice top wood. A with D as a close second.

I say A...I like the way the grain seems to all taper toward the bottom of the neck

B for me. The lighter wood crawling around the butt of the neck, just super-sexy.
