Walter Woods Amber - thinking of selling...

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by spliffnriff, Nov 8, 2004.

  1. I am thinking of selling my WW amber light amp and my ampeg speakers. Just curious what you guys think it could sell for. It is in excellen condition although the second channel pregain is a little scratchy at times!
If there is demand, I will offer it for sale here first before ebay because you guys deserve the first option when it comes to selling items ( or at least I think TalkBass members deserve first dibs on gear, because we are the coolest! :bassist: )

    let me know.
    thanks

If the WW is in excellent condition you should get around $1700 for it.

Did you sell the WW amber? How many watts is this model? I am interested in buying. How much? How old is it?

    Thanks

  4. If I were selling it'd be worth $1700.

If I were buying considerably less! ;)

I've backed out of selling my classic high power green
light Woods amp a few times now. I keep getting offered
more and more for it, so I feel like I would be ripping off
a fellow player. (and missing out on owning one) Walter
told me how much guys are paying for these amps. It just
seems over the top. On the other hand, I still have mine.
I thought my new Focus would be similar. Although a totaly
cool amp, (i'm lovin it) it's not a Woods.

I couldn't agree more. I didn't keep my Focus very long because it wasn't near the amp the WW is.

  7. Hi guys, I have not made any decisions. I thought it might be worth $2,000... I know, I know!!!! I also take into consideration the currency exchange that I have lost...
Anyway, I need to sell my cabs first, and although they are up for sale, no buyers (Canadian market).
So I am in a holding pattern.
Just for the record it is a 1998 and is the 450/650watt model... 450 at 8 Ohms, and 650 at 4 Ohms.

    ciao

Isnt a brand new ultra a little over $2k? In that case $2k would be pretty high for your amp IMO.

$2195 for a brand new Ultra. $1750 for a brand new Super.

I can understand the classics being overpriced, but the
amber model Woods is still made. If its around $1,800.
for a new one.......... you guessed it. Why would a used
one be more money? There is certainly an interesting
market for these amps. Although there is that whole money
    thing with it being Canada.
