Bu bu bu Binga Benavente Vortex with Aero dual coils and U-Retro.
THAT"S SWEET. I was gonna say I wasn't too fond of the wood covered pickups then I noticed that the inlays are the same wood!!!! NIICE!!!!!
The maple board makes it even prettier.
Ow man.. I still had at least another 2 days wear in these pants.. I hate you for showing me that deliscious bass
Yea, I noticed that bass on the flyer I picked up at their booth.
The inlay really ties the whole bass together, I bet it sounds wonderful.
It sounds great but just arrived here in Phoenix yesterday so I have to let the neck adjust out a bit before I set it up to be able to give it a full trial.
I know from previous experince that the combination of Aero Pickups and J or U-Retro preamps is a winner. Not the cheapest combination to put togther though. The cost of pickups and preamp alone in this bass would be enough to go buy a new American Fender Jazz almost.
These Vortex bolt-ons of Chis' are very nice...very sleek with fast necks and his wood selection is insane!
I'll get some new pics of this bass later today.
By the way, this bass is available now without waiting. Chris is now at least 6 months back ordered after the success at NAMM so if you're in the market for a Vortex this is it...contact me.
Now These are pretty
i'd hit it! i'd LOVE to have that pickup combination in both my basses. i bet it could even make a rogue sound awesome!
It looks like the truss rod cover is off center on that bass. Is that the way it's designed?
Actually the screw was loose. If you look closely you can see its not tight. It was just dropped down. I actually tightened it after the pics, I noticed that.
Its what happens when basses come from OR to Cali. Slight adjustment has to be made some times
That is the low F# to G 6 string
How thick is the wood covering on those pickups? I don't imagine it's too thick.
No its not to thick. Larry at Aero has said Chris makes one of, if not the nicest wood cover's for his pickups he's seem by anyone.
that low F# string is quite huge, i would really love to play one of them!
Its a 163. It took a while to find a bridge cable for it, but SIT String's came through. What a great company!!! They actually make their own string instead of private label....
That is a very pretty bass. And the pic of the pickups is sweet. Very nice work.
And I'm a bit surprised. Chris is in Orygon. I wonder if he allows visitors???
Yea, he allows people to come by and check things out. You would need to setup an appointment.
Yeppir, that four-stringer looks a lot like my Vortex!!
proud owner of LOTS of Benavente basses!!
Ummm Mark that's because this bubinga 4 string was cut out of the same piece of bubinga that was used on your 5 string...it should look the same!
