wanna start fretless...MIM-fender-jazz?

    Unfortunately, I see no post... But yes, an MIM Fretless Jazz is a wonderful, upgradeable place to start... Mucho bang for the buck IME/IMO

    The problem is that after upgrades, it isn't so cheap anymore. If you buy everything new it costs $375 for the bass, $100-150 for pickups, and $25-50 for a bridge. that is already a $500-600 investment not counting a preamp, pickgaurd, tuners, and shipping costs from the parts/bass. When you can get a fully equipped fretless warmoth jazz for $300-500, it doesn't seem like that great of a deal.

    That is assuming, (as I did), that one would want/need to upgrade it... Since '99 the pickups are such that an upgrade isn't totally necessary... Stewmac sells this bridge for less than $20, which is a sound investment. Viola! Playable, giggable axe... Should you decide to sell it, the Fender brand name will help you get much of your dollar back...
