I like rotosounds and love the tone but don't really need it for my sound, while i absolutely LOVE the way they feel, a good tension is very important to me, would anybody care to suggest rounds strings that feel like roto 66s (tension mostly, not the roughness), but don't wear frets as much?

They're stainless, that's probably a big part of the feel you like, but it's also why they cause more fret wear - harder than nickel. I like DR hi beams, they'll feel similar, but they'll be just as rough on the frets.

What sound you looking for? What about this feel do you like? What is your definition of "good" tension - stiff, soft? I use rotos 66 and don't experience the fret wear any more so than other SS string.
As has been said before strings and their individual characteristics on a particular instrument is a journey unto itself.

pLAY THE rOTO 66 ON the fretboard with plucking fingers = warm sound/tone for me. If I try others I always end out going back to Rotosounds.
