For those of you with experience with chambering and mixing tops, how could I expect a chambered mahogany w/swamp ash top P Bass to sound?

Are Warmoth tops thick enough that the black in a tobacco burst would hide where they join on the forearm contour?

    Thank you for your replies....

I'm highly opinionated and extremely self-assured
    It will sound - good.

Seriously, the types of woods used do have an effect on the tone, but they are not the dominant factor here. Pickups, strings, playing style (not to mention amp/effects/cab/room) all will make a much larger contribution.

I believe Warmoth uses steam to bend the drop-top over the forearm contour.

    *quick check of warmoth.com*

Yep, halfway down this page it's confirmed: Bass Body Lam Tops
