I am thinking about purchasing a warmoth fretless neck without fret lines to put on a Fender P-bass. Does anyone know if the dots on the side of the fretboard (not face dots) are lined up exactly where the frets would be or if they are lined up in between where the frets would be like on a fretted bass?

  2. Original Fender dots are where the frets would be if they existed. Since Warmouth makes a "licensed" replacement neck for Fenders, it could be assumed (safely, I think) that their necks would follow suit.

Ask Warmoth to be sure. New Fender lined fretless necks have the dots BETWEEN the frets, as though the neck had frets. Don't ask me...

I replaced the factory neck on my Fender about 5 years about with a Warmoth. It's a fretless neck but does have the fret lines. The dots line up with the lines although I know you said you're not getting lines on yours. Good choice, it's a great neck.
