Warmoth owners: ever get the frets levelled?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Bass Viking, Dec 28, 2004.

  1. I have a couple of Warmoth bass necks. I know that Warmoth doesn't level or dress their frets. Mine seem to play fine but I wonder if any of you have had this done and did it make a big difference?

2 necks, both fine for me right out of the box.

I've heard some folks needed a fret dress, whereas some do not. But, if you're happy w/ the frets, why change them?

It can't hurt. When I was doing strictly tech work, much of it was on new instruments...wood dries out, frets pop loose, even on the best instruments. If you can't tell if the frets are level, take it to a tech who can tell. The lower you like the action, the more critical level frets are.

Well, that would be silly as my Warmoth neck is fretless.
