    Hey everybody,

I have around 2 Grand to spend on a bass, and I wanted to go fivestring and J-Bass Like.

I first thought about DP Custom, but I don´t believe that he will make a J-Bass Styled instrument for me, so I decided to go Warmoth. This is what I wanted:

    Neck:
AAA Birdseye Maple with AAA Birdseye Maple Board
Custom Head (My Tech will cut it)

    Body:
Swamp Ash with Laminated Top (Quilted Maple)
    Sunburst Finish

    Electronics:
EMG 40DC Humbuckers with Sadowsky Onboard Preamp

    Hardware:
    Black, HipShot UltraLite Tuners
    Black, Gotoh Quick Release Bridge

Please, tell me your opinions on this selections..

    David

  2. Sounds good. Nino made his sadowsky clone from warmoth parts for about $900, and it looks DAMN nice. You wont be disappointed if you put it together right.

Go for it!!!!! I love mine. I got the body from the "Thrift Shop" & the neck is un-finished maple/maple. You might have to have something made for you which might cost alittle more, but the bass will be a KILLER!!!!! I ordered parts to build a 4 string Jazz bass (alla Geddy Lee), have an old '79 P w/a Warmoth neck & used to own a Warmoth 8 string Jazz. Warmoth make EXCELLENT, hight quality stuff!!!!

    <font color=white><b><u>Specs on Warmoth 5</u></b></font>

    Electronics:
    Aguilar OBP-1 pre-amp
    2 EMG 40 J's

    Hardware:
    Gotoh tuning machines
    Schaller roller bridge

    Woods:
Quilted maple top on ash body
    Maple/Maple

Best playing & sounding bass I own.

  4. Nino, I just keep loving the looks of that bass more and more.

You did a spectacular job on it.
