D28F960B-482F-42D4-8167-D4E2B45D69C7. Warmoth Short Scale Headless MM Clone Assembly/Build Lightweight!

$425 Shipped to lower 48. Add $25 for HI and AK. Add $35 for our Canuck friends. All others, please request a shipping quote.

Just finished this little dude recently. It was a contract-build for a local, but they backed out, and I am more of a P-bass player, so I need to move this along. Light, punchy, really focused, nice ergonomic bass. Sounds huge with the Aggie MM. I imagine this would absolutely slay with an Aguilar or other 2 band pre. There seems to be boatloads of mids on tap here…

    • Warmoth Alder G4 SS Body (3 lb 6 Oz)
    • Eden 30” Scale Maple/Maple Neck (no face dots)
    • 2-1/2” heel
    • 1-1/2” Brass SBC Nut
    • Aguilar MM Pickup
    • 500K Alpha Volume pot with ebony wood knob to Switchcraft output jack
    • Hipshot Headless Bridge Tuner with PBC (Bunker) Headpiece
    • Currently strung with NOS D’Addario Flex Steels
    • Dunlop Strap Buttons
    • Total weight: 6 lb 8 oz!

Had to make a little adjustment to the neck pocket to accommodate the neck width and the extra fret (this one is 21 and the standard Warmoth neck is 19 or 20 with an overhang). Intonation is dead on, plays and sounds great.

Shaved down the neck heel for a little better access to the dusty end. Should have drilled the the countersink on the neck screws before shaving the heel, so there are some rough edges.

Warmoth only provides for neck or bridge pickup position, so I had to make a ratio calculation and rout for a ‘sweetspot’ position for short scales. Routed a recess for the bridge tuning knobs.

Hand applied a black stone stain, but it turned out brown. Should have laid white base coat(?). Sprayed over with Krylon 2X semi-gloss clear. Hit it with some steel wool to even it out. Came out decent, but definitely is not a pro job; however, a nice Workman-like quality.

Brand new gig bag included with this bass.

I am fairly firm on the price, but shoot me an offer and we can talk it over. Please use the PM function, as I prefer these conversations to be private.

Shipping seems to be hotly contested issue (for some of us). It’s not getting cheaper. It costs approximately $50 minimum, to ship a package 48 X 16 X 8 in the 15-20 lb range. So, try to take this into consideration and avoid low ball offers. I know this is a glorified “kit bass”, but there is some extra work I put into it. I’m pretty sure I have priced this fairly and without sentimental value factored in.
