His response to a post in the Seattle Area Bass Nerds Facebook group. It would appear that some line of short scale basses is in the work as opposed to addressing the backlog of scroll basses.

I could see a short scale bass in my future. Perhaps I should order one now, and when I am ready for it, it may actually be built :D

This sounds great! I currently don't like short scale basses. But I will when I'm 70.
So I turn 50 next year, as a gift to myself I will send Darrin the down payment.
He will promise me I will receive the bass by my 70th birthday, then he finally delivers it in time for my 80th hell yeah!

Is it prophetic, hindsight, or both?

I'm not part of this thread, but has anyone ever thought about a class action lawsuit?
Or filing individual small claims through your local District Justice which does not require an attorney?

The post I linked too earlier appears to have been taken down by Darrin. No big surprise.

Not worth the time or effort, and you can't get blood out of a turnip.

I have someone who owes me 2500 - 3000 from over a decade ago. Have the emails from them admitting as such for computer work I did and promising to pay me with interest. Had I proceeded with a claim against them when I could, that time has long passed by...
    • By the time I filed in court and paid filing fees...
    • then went to court for the actual case...
    • then after winning the case drove to their state...
    • checked in with the local sheriff's office there...
    • turned over paperwork from my court proceedings to file them there, plus filing fees there...
    • paid the sheriff's office for an escort to their property so I could start seizing stuff after their deputy served the papers, if they even had anything to seize and were home so they could be served in the first place...
    • plus rented a truck to bring it all back to where I live...
    • then go through the hassle of selling it probably for pennies on the dollar...
It wasn't worth the time or effort other than to be a thorn in their side, so I let it go. I had and have much better things to do than waste my time chasing money I'll never see.

Funny thing is, they ended up in Federal prison a few years back for white collar business crimes. They're actually the 2nd person who ripped me off for computer work that I did to end up in Federal prison. Hmmm, funny how that happens...

Just tell him you need it when you are 60, then you get it when you are 70, problem solved?

Man I feel your pain.....I feel everybody's pain in this thread. Can't imagine. Just unbelievable to me that someone can get away with this.

    I wish everybody the best.

So everyone gets 30/34th of what they ordered? It's an improvement.

People get away with it every day.

Thankfully it's easier now with the Internet for people to do their research and not get ripped off because of groups with threads such as this one.

The flip side is the Internet also provides more ways for people to get ripped off if they don't do their research first. Or in some cases provides ways for them to be the first to get ripped off and become the research that saves others from getting ripped off.

Definite improvement. If only it were a reality.
