    I am cross posting this link here because this new scam that just occurred to me is most likely to impact Luthiers more than anybody else. Luthiers should take a moment to read this post describing the scam:

    Thanks for sharing this... interesting approach. I wonder if they were seeking a replacement preamp so they could reverse engineer it to better produce counterfeit instruments. :eek:

    After seeing that counterfeit Ritter that the overseas sellers were trying to move at NAMM a few years back, I now believe anything can be well-duplicated... :(
