i saw jimmy earl with the chick corea electric band a couple of months ago and the man was no where at the same level of those musicians he was up on stage with. i wouldnt call him a "fusion master". he's got cool basses though:D

yeah, same here....i'm diggin' it lots. it appears to have only one pup, though. hmm...and i bet you wouldn't be able to get one with a wenge neck either...

And I thought the natural version looked good

Looks like a Bartolini pup, or perhaps EMG.. 3-band EQ, then?

i dunno, that's right around where the first pickup is on my thumb 6, so there might be room for another one that we just can't see because his hand is in the way.

and didn't jimmy earl already have a sig bass? i remember it being a 5 string ss2 with an ash body and wenge/maple neck with maple board, and LED's, right?

i'm not sure...sounds like a cool bass, though...i was kinda thinking the same thing about it having two pups, too...maybe it has the same config as the thumb 6.

  18. I remember that bass too, but was it ever in actual production, or did they only make one or two for Jimmy?

i just got an email from michael brown at dbg...he said that that ssII was made for jimmy a couple years ago and will never see production...one can, however be built for an upcharge and up to an 12-16 month wait.
