Is this what I have? (I attached the picture)

My friend let me borrow this indefinetly (He stopped playing bass). I'm assuming all FNA types have only one $ pickup?

What does the volume knob do--it is a pull up/push down thing. Does that switch from active to passive?

Also has anyone had issues with the D&G strings sounding faint? The action is a bit high so I'll adjust that tonight.

edit: The serial number is m055845-98 so I'm assuming it's from 1998 correct?

  2. Last 2 digits of serial=year of build.
My FNA 4's D&G sound fine.
Volume push/pull activates a mid-cut/bass & treb boost. Instant scoop.
    FNA's are 1 PU; FNA Jazzman's have a neck/middle J added.

    Looks nice.

Those old FNA's were a great bass. The pickup and preamp were made by Seymour Duncan for Warwick. Unlike the FNA Jazzman that has all MEC electronics (bleh).

  4. Very cool

Let's see the back of the thing, especially the neck. There's a slight chance that it has a wenge neck, if it was a '98 build...though if I remember correctly, the "m" in the serial number would mean it was built in December, and a bit late in the year to still have the wenge neck.
