  1. Another post in the same style: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=446385

Since Kaputsport likes public transactions here we go. I kinda agree it should prove a good outcome. It is stated if you make the transaction public it will go smoothly.

    His original post

I sent him 320 bucks via paypal and just got the bass today.

Sweet! Sounds like a great deal. The MEC's should be rockin, and the things he saids are under the hood should help the music flow! :bassist::bassist::bassist:

  3. I am going to post pics soon with my wifes high detail macro lens camera (Nikon D80 105mm Micro lens). Truss rod nut is stripped and the saddles were dropped to compensate. I might be able to get the truss rod to turn. Also there are two small clips that hold the nut in place, the one on low B side is about to fall off.

We will see how this goes, but I will try and review the bass anyway for those that want to know about these pickups in this bass.

I am going to take a closer look in the morning. :meh:

Oh gosh i didnt see the thing about the condition of the bass.

Im not going to say anything other than i hope he gives you a refund

  9. OK. I just plugged it up to try and do sound clips of the MEC's in action.

No sound. Ok. I replaced the battery (it was dead). The back compartment has a broken clip. I replaced the battery and you have to wiggle the jack to get distorted sounds. No clear tone.

Hmm. With a little bit of creative motion I did have an allen wrench to get the truss rod to move (almost 1/4 turn, waiting overnight). Action still isn't great and I can't raise the saddles still.

  10. I will try to work this out in the morning and get clips up. It's 12:30 am EST.

I will add this was supposed to be shipped to me last week, and I asked for a refund due to lack of communication, and it was stated that he didn't see the PM's before he shipped. Just in case that comes up.

    Wow... just wow.

    :scowl:

I hope you wiggle some wires and the sweetest tone you ever heard comes from that bass. ;)

  12. Again, I am just documenting the transaction, for better or worse.

If the electronics are hosed I do have a set of Rio Grandes sitting around I might be able to get to work. But I think I would not want to go that route.

As you should. The market in action!

  14. Well, the feedback forum is for leaving negative or positive feedback. This was supposed to be a review, then it turned into a mirror thread of another transaction the seller has posted after the bass wasn't up for reviewing tonight.

I don't want this to be a feedback thread, but documentation only.

I made the mistake when a TB'er on here shipped me an amp that was 24x24 in a 24x24 box with no padding except for a childrens innertube to document the transaction (How not to pack an amp) as well and it turned sour and into a witch hunt because the guy refused a refund. I don't want that to happen to this.

My only negative feedback I have ever left in almost 60 transactions. :meh:

Sorry, we aren't going to start doing this now. Kaputsport's thread slipped by me, or I would have stopped that one before it got going.

    Closed.
