Warwick Dolphin, how the tone?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by pesci1313, Aug 30, 2001.

  1. How does the Dolphin get that tremendous tone? Is it the woods? The woods combined with the electronics and other hardware? How much does the size and shape of the body have to do with it anything? I'd love to hear anyones opinions, I just became really curious recently as I was listening to Dave Matthews Band's Listener supported. The tone he gets in True Reflections is absolutely amazing, and to add to it(i have the dvd) he is just very very gently plucking the strings, its amazing the absolute killer growl i guess you could say that he gets. Anyway let me know what you all think.

Well, the ones I've tried have been heavy as hell. The high wood density may have something to do with emphasizing midrange growl.
