  9. I'm really surprised this hasn't been snatched up; i've been waiting for a 5-string of this exact bass to pop up for awhile now.

    Bump!

Bump for a Sonically Sinister bass!

I'm actually shocked this is still around!~
For the price (which is right on the $$$), it should have been snatched up a looooooong time ago!
I don't know Andy, but I do know that he has been offering this Dolphin for sale or trade for a couple years now. Or it at least looks that way from poking around on some of the other bass classified websites and seeing his posts.
    e.g. Harmony Central/Bassgear...

    What's up with that???

@ jnprather: There was a 5 Sting Dolphin available here on TB a few weeks ago. Did you miss out?

I've never aggressively marketed the bass, but now that I'm doing a blues gig + a classic rock gig (2 bands), I need a Fender Jazz--esp. a Roscoe Beck 4. I guess I be willing to do some sort of trade for a RB 4 or a Custom Shop jazz.

I agree, it's incredible this has not sold yet! Nobody is buying stuff right now!!!

Well, if your lookin' you'll get some smokin' deals. Sorry to see such a beauty just sitting around - at a different point in my life I'd been all over that.

I'm tempted to buy the thing just on principle:)

If you can hang onto it, it will probably be worth a lot more $$ at some later time - there was a time when people went ape for the wenge warwick stuff - it'll happen again.

Anyhoo, Good luck w/ your sale!

  15. Hey Mike ,
FUNNY , I wanted to buy this Dolphin before I took your Zon !!
The seller was obviously sceptical to doing an overseas deal ,
my mails all went unanswered !
I'm sure you'll love this bass , and the price is perfect / these are
    AWESOME instruments .

  16. Sweet deal. Whenever I see a Dolphin, I think of the bass tone on Dave Matthew's "Crush". mmmmm :smug:

Right On!! Hope the deal gos smooth for both parties!
The bass is really a gem... one of the VERY VERY last hand made Dolphins!
Check out the 98' at basscentral.com Andy's bass is the real deal!

    Congrats to both of you!

  18. If i remember correctly, it was a current model. I was/am on the lookout for a Dolphin 5 with the older Redwood body, etc., preferably 1997/1998.

Glad to see this go to a good home, congrats on the purchase!

    @ jnprather

Oh that's right... right on. I've been looking for one for awhile now too.
    I have a custom shop Dolphin 5, from 99 Maple & Wenge/Maple neck.
But I'd like a standard production version also, as well as a Wide neck version.

    Good Luck!

Yeah, this has been my favourite bass since I first started playing. My first nice bass was a Warwick Fortress. The funny thing is, I almost bought a dolphin for $2200 on ebay last August when I started playing again. I sure am glad I waited. I can't wait to get it in my hands.
