Hi folks, I was at the local music shop (RobbsMusic in Boulder) and they carry MIM fenders, as well as a pretty good selection of Warwicks...

I'm wondering about a warwick I found there -- it doesn't seem to be listed anywhere on Warwick's website. According to Robbs, it's a "Corvette Deluxe" or Pro or something like that.

I found this photo online, and it looks almost exactly like the one I played -- the pickups are in the same configuration, but I think maybe (very) slightly different.

Anyway, anybody ever heard of this bass? Is it a Corvette?

I really like the playability, and although the sound is good, I really love it when I turn up the bass EQ a little.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!

It's a Corvette Streamer. Pretty good bass actually.

The Corvette Streamer was a limited edition Corvette with birdseye maple top and maple neck(like a Streamer). It also had F-holes and the pickup configuration of the Dolphin(jazz neck, dual-jazz bridge). First Bass had one that I lusted after every time I went in. Ended up being sold fairly cheap at auction two days after I bought a Thumb!

Thanks for the replies -- any one care to guess what it's worth? I think retail was like $1995, but they're dealing...

They're saying they'll let me trade in my old GenzBenz 410 and Workingman 4004 for a pretty sweet deal.

Wholesale is usually about 50% of retail for most musical equipment. Selling at 70% to 80% of retail is normal, I think Robb's usually does 75% of retail. If they're dealing, 65% may not be unreasonable (~$1300).

If the retail price is $1995, then it is the Corvette Limited. The Corvette Streamer would be used (made around '95) and I'm certain listed over $3000.

Let's see, it cost me $300 because I'm an endorsee. It cost the stores $1000, who in turn sells them @ $2000. They are all gone, except for one @ Dana B. Good, and that one's mine! :p How much cash are they asking you to put with your trade? IMO, I wouldn't pay more than $1200.
The one with the "f" holes was a pretty sweet bass, but I could never get my hands on one. Warwick even tried to hunt one down for me, but couldn't, and HP said that he didn't want to make another one. Rare means rare.
