Why would you have to defret it? I've seen fretless versions.

The Rockbass are available fretless, and they come with a ebony fingerboard. I sent an e-mail to Warwick once, and I received the answer the next day.

I'm of the opinion, that if you want something fretless,,, yer best off to just buy it that way... However, I have seen some good de-fretting jobs,,& it's not like you'll spend a ton of money on a Rockbass,, so if it gets ruined,,, yer not out a fortune.

Just buy the fretless, will save trouble and probably will be nicely done.

  18. the fretless plays nicely and if I'm right....it has an ebony fretboard
