i am considering buying a Warwick Bol-on Thumb bass (4-string) and i was wondering if anyone here has one. if so, how does it play with Metal, psychedelia, alternative/Prog rock, and classic rock?

I don't own one, but I've spent a lot of time with them. Suited for (IMHO) metal, they have growling, biting tone that cuts throught well, and in metal would be percieved as "grinding." Excellent axe for rock/metal in my experience. It's work fine for anything else as well. It's characterized by a woody snarl that's pretty distinctive. Not a bad bass by any strectch of the imagination.

  3. Don't forget to try it with a strap.

Listen to PuffDiddy. As a former Thumb owner, he knows what he is talking about.
