warwick thumb bolt-on

    i have a warwick 6 string thumb bolt-on. when i have the push/pull knob in i don't get any sound whatsoever. when i have it out i get some sound but it's crackely and cuts in and out. anybody have any ideas?

    Don't know what you mean on the knob, but crackling/cutting in and out means a bad dashpot in my experience.

    They're incredibly easy to replace if you've got any soldiering skills.
     
  3. Sounds like a good time to get a new preamp. I suggest Aguilar or EMG. Who knows, it could be an easy fix, but your bass will sound better with a new preamp anyway.
