For the past week or so, I've been trying Fender MIA, MIM, and Squire VM Jazz basses. I was pretty set on going for a VM, and getting a MIA later, if the Jazz bass becomes my main axe, but I also tried Tributes and G&L JB2 and SB2.

The JB2's, both G&L and tribute, were very well made, felt good, and probably wort the sticker price on them, but they did not blow me away.

The SB2's however did. The feel was pretty much as good on the Tribute and the G&L, but the G&L sounds just amazing. So now I have 2 more basses to consider. It's nice to be impressed by gear, but its also costly.

  2. I have never played an SB2, is the neck specked like a Jazz or a Precision?

  3. I bought a G&L Sb2 a few months ago and find it really hard to play my Fenders anymore, the SB2 is just great, definitely a good buy!
