Was Hofner the first to offer an active bass?

    Looking through my Hofner Violin bass history book and I find this and got curious as to who produced the first active bass.Hofner was 1962.

    Maybe? I always thought Alembic was first.

    Gonna have to flip back through the book.This version was based on the 62.Don't remember right off hand if the 62 had the bass booster or not.Guess I should've done that first lol.

    It was 67-68 models.Guess they weren't the first.
