Was wondering if the 9v batt voltage could be tested at the output jack by Pluging in instrument cord then use a multimeter at the end. Asking because converting a p bass to active.

If you're talking about testing the battery level on a bass with an active preamp by just using a multimeter across the tip/sleeve at the end of the cord, then no.

However, if you plug in a TRS cable (Tip-Ring-Sleeve....the one with the three electrical contacts, not two) then I believe on most active setups you could test the battery voltage across the Ring/Sleeve contacts.

Thanks 4 string, I want to test that. Just thinking of ways to monitor the batt life. I could inst a low batt led.

  4. they offer these commercially, you know...

I think it's overkill, personally...have never lost a battery, yet.

Just replace them regularly...test them, if you like...
