I used to own Peavey gear from the era of the amp you just bought. Those amps were apparently not abuse tolerant as mine were always blowing up output transistors. At the time, I was totally clueless regarding electronics so I was handing the amps over to repair techs for service. They usually came back not properly repaired. Eventually I just gave them away having grown tired of repairing them. Be careful of speaker load. I think that's why I was blowing the amps up.
