I'm a real fan of wasabi fried peas, and have sampled them around the world taking note of the nuances that each local region imparts to this marvelous treat.

this weekend I purchased a pund distributed by Nutty Guys, and I have to say that these are the hottest wasabi peas I have had anywhere :hyper: since they also sell on-line, I think I have a permanent source for my wasabi pea cravings

so who do you think produces the best wasabi peas and why? spill it -

    all the best,

  2. Wow. Never heard of such a thing! I will have to look for them, sounds great.
  3. I've had them on the west coast and in Vegas but not here in Florida. I like all the ones I've tried.

I can get some from Well Farm near my house in Houston that are pretty decent, though wasabi isn't exactly my favorite flavor for my foods...
  5. I eat a can a week. The Asian market by my house sells them for way cheap, too. One of the most wonderful snacks in the universe.

I love them when I can find a brand that doesn't use Shrimp paste in the coating that some of them have. I come from a New England family, living in Maryland, and I'm allergic to shellfish. :crying:

I hate them. The ones I've tried were absolutely disgusting.

Love them. Don't have a special source though. Typically get them at Trader Joe's, which isn't as good as the stuff I get in Asian markets but is closer to home.

Never had them but they sure do sound good!
  11. I had to quit wasabi peas because I'd eat a bunch of them, and then absent-mindedly rub my eyes. And then, I'd run screaming through the house trying to find water, blinded by wasabi dust with my retinas on fire. Good times.
If you like wasabi peas, try finding some wasabi peanuts. They're just as good, but bigger! With harder shells and more wasabi. I'm pretty sure Trader Joe's has 'em.

    I LOVE Wasabi Peas!

I used to have a contest with my co-workers to see who could hold a wasabi pea on the tongue for the longest without crying or reaching for water. :bawl:

I get them at the local Health Food store. YUM! :hyper:

    Wasabi Peas?

    ... Meh

I feasted on them like there was no tomorrow for about 2 years. Now I never want to see a Wasabi Pea again.
