I bought a Washburn xb900 bass off ebay for $300.00 and am very happy with it. It has a swamp ash body natural color, duncan basslines pickup, and nice construction. Its made in the USA.. I have been looking for a second bass for awhile (my 1st bass is a MIM fender jazz). This is very lightweight and plays incredibly fast. The electronics are very powerful and offer a wide range of tones. Just wanted to share this and let people know you can get some great deals on EBAY.

That is a GREAT price for that bass. The XB-900 basses sell new for about $1150!!!!

    Congrats!!!!!

  3. Looked like it'd be a heavy instrument. I'm on the lookout for the right 5-string--it's a bass emergency, I have no bass right now! Perhaps the XB925...

  4. I've played a XB-900 before. Good bass man! The basslines system really "makes" that bass. The electronics would be about $160 new. So treat it like you got a USA made bass with good construction / hardware for $140. That's a smoking deal.

Plus I liked the bass so much, that it skewed me to look at a alternative MM p/u'ed bass. So I went for a warmoth w/ the Basslines SMB-D4s electronics. And prolly spent 3 times the amount you did.

Ya done right man. The ones I played were used and about $550-$700 depending of finish.

DANG. These things are $1440 from musician's friend . Superb man.

  5. Dude, I just did like the same thing! My first bass is a MIM Fender Jazz bass V and I just bought a Washburn XB-600 (6 strings). It is great, I really love it. I paid $205 for it off of ebay, so I think I got a pretty good deal.

I also got my used XB-900 off eBay for about $300. The one I got is the Bartolini version (two Bart humbuckers & preamp) and it is simply awesome, especially for the price! Has a nice fat tone and responds really well to fingering dynamics too, I still can't get over how cool it is!
