OK. This is getting bad. I think I've posted about this before, but it's getting to the point where it's started to really get me down. I waste tons of time here at Talkbass, and doing other dumbass things on the internet. I'd say 2 to 3 hours a day - that adds up to a lot of hours at the end of a month. I could be....

    Learning to read music
    Writing songs
    Praciticing more
    Recording
    Cleaning my place
    Meditating
Taking a class (I want to learn a martial art)
Doing things to further my career

Anybody else struggle with this? Anybody have any solutions to the dilemma, a way to maybe "ease" your way out of it? I seriously started considering getting rid of my computer, but that would do more harm than good. Any thoughts are appreciated.

  3. My own opinion Joe is if you're happy and content doing what you're doing, then how can you be wasting your time? Are you making the most constructive use of it? No, but it's your time, and your decision of how best to use it. Now if you're unhappy, then you probably are wasting your time. I know this much, guilt is vastly overated. You say to yourself i should be doing this. Why aren't you then? Obiviously because you don't want to. Trent

Here's an analagy. TV can be used to watch sitcoms, or instructional videos. Use your resources to forward your purposes.

Go to libster and places like that to help you learn toi read. Come here and go to the appropriate forums to get advice and stuff when you are stuck. This website and many others can help you to forward your worthwhile goals, just use them properly. ;)

    Good luck!

I waste an inordinant amount of time on TB, but it doesn't bother me. All it costs me is sleep. And practice. Actually some times I log off and play my bass when the guilt gets piled up enough.
