I want to glue a spalted maple laminate top to an ash body. In order to strengthen the maple before I can route out the cavities I will need to cover it in epoxy. My question is after that, can I apply a water-based lacquer to the whole bass, or just finish the whole thing back and top in epoxy, or something else? Suggestions???
