I was reading your gear set up and saw you are now using a Sunn head, Why the switch from the eden?, are you using a pre-amp?
As a Minnesota native, I was always proud to know that you used EDEN gear. I would love to buy local and own a Eden rig, but not enough dough(I'm just a bass player!)
I will just have to hope my svt is really made in saint louis
    thanks

    jay,

I did use a sunn 1200s for a couple of tours but it couldn't hang w/what watt was giving it. I got another eden to replace my tour-weary wt-800. it's actually two units, a preamp and a power amp. here's what I use now:

    watt's regular gig bass rig:
    korg dtr-1 chromatic tuner
    fuhrman pl-plus power distributor
    eden wp-100 pre-amp
eden wt-1000 power amp (2x500 watts)
two eden d410xlt bass speaker cabinets (4x10" speakers)

I really dig eden stuff and am glad to be pushing lows out through david's happening ampage again.

whoa, listen up - I'm just a bass player too!

Is it the same rig you use for recording?
And how are the sessions for the new lp doin?

    j.,

well, the same rig but using only half the power amp (it's two 500 watt amps) and one 4x10 cab - don't need that much volume in the studio!

by the way, I still use the sunn 1200s w/a couple of eden cabs (a d410t and a d210t) for prac so I don't have to continually re-setup after gigs. the sunn can hang w/prac - tour's just too much.

What was the GK rig from the fIREHOSE days? I recall you laying it out in an article I have since lost.

    Thanks for recanting.

    hi,

the gk rig was from the final minutemen days to the first half or so of the fIREHOSE ones. you can see it on the first record, "ragin' full-on."
