Does connecting two 400 watt rms 8 ohm cabnets in parallel (4ohm) affect the power handling abillity of the speaker cabnets. Can I safely run 800 watts or only 400 watts. I am looking at a svt3(450 watts) or a svp pro and a power amp. My current amp SWR WM2004 is not cutting it against two Marshalls. Plus I want to be able to get a overdrive sound. Please help me to get the appropriate wattage to get the most out of my speaker cabnets which are a 4-10" and 18" Carvin. Thanks in advance. TT

yep 2 cabs of 400 watts each means you effectively have 800w power handling.
