I picked this based on @10cc shootouts and the P15 doesn’t disappoint.

@Azure Skies did a great job, sounds really nice.

And what a huge on switch! Feels like a jet engine may turn on!

I like what I hear from the Tung Sol in the build thread.

B15N Tube Preamp DI Build Report

Does anyone have any tips or shop recommendations to get the tube I will like?

    Thanks in advance!

I do like it but I’ve got a Sovtek in there. I like the Tung Sol clip better.

@Dave Hill what tube is in yours?

I think only the first run had anything but Sovtek in them. Again, I could be wrong... My version was delivered to the original owner in Feb. 2017 and has the affected 1/4" out.

Anyway, any tube gurus out there that can help me with the purchase of a Tung Sol 6SL7 similar to what @Azure Skies used in the above linked thread? Thanks!

So, I read the @Azure Skies thread again and he says he used new production Tung Sol. So that solves it for me. That’s the clip I liked.
    Thanks for your help, everybody!

    Update.

I was having trouble taming the beast. It was just too hot for my recording setup (Scarlett and Reaper) and I was having to really turn it down with some of my basses. I felt I needed some help. I bought a Whirlwind IMP PAD -20db device and now I can turn up the volume and get a little tube warmth without going into the red in Reaper. I'm even happier now than before and I still haven't bought the Tung Sol yet. Hope this helps someone!

Get a few more of those inline pads. You will be glad.
