check this out, i was pondering why the bottom fret lines are on an angle??
Its the fanned fretboard. Research Dingwall guitars, and Novax fretboards. It does make sense.

If you look closer you'll see all "frets" (or fret lines rather as it's a fretless) are angled. It's the Novax fanned fret system, search for Novax if you want to read more about it.

Well, I tried....
that's not weird, it's just got fanned frets.
well I don't have an 8 stringer......
but here is a thead w/ photos of my Dingwall fanned fingerboard fretless bass.
You get used to playing the fanned board and its not a problem whatsoever.
Thats a cool bass on Ebay, I've seen it a few times before
