    But the days will start getting longer up here.

    In the BBC Travel show this week - they showed how you can have a holiday where you celebrate New Year's Eve twice - for the same year!!

    So you go to Australia for New Year - celebrate there - then next day get on a plane to Hawaii (crossing the international date line) and celebrate the same day all over again !! :)
