    Hello to all.
A couple of weeks ago, I went to my uncle´s to get some strings for my Warwick.
He remembered me about the Lakland 55-01 I tried for Christmas and he offered me a 55-02 with easy financing. So I made the deposit and last week it came.

    Here it is:

    I love it.
I wont say more. Many people here have already said great things about the Skylines, specially the 55-02. It plays great, feels great, sounds like a MUTANT CHAMELEON. Ultra-versatile.
    Enough.

    Want sound samples?
    Here they are!!
I recorded these directly to my computer, running the Bass in PASSIVE Mode, no effects, no EQ, no NADA, so the natural sound comes trough.
The B String didnt record too well, posibly me lacking recording skills, blah blah blah.
The licks were improvised, one take so many mistakes are there, sorry for that.

    Skyline J-Bass Setting
    Skyline J-Bass Growl Fingerstyle
    Skyline P-Bass Setting (Somewhat)
    Skyline MusicMan Setting
    Skyline Original Setting (Default)

I hope you like the samples.

    Sounds great!.........(nice bass too)

    :)

  6. I was wondering what kind of sound the Musicman Jazz combination produced? Thank you for that.

Does anyone know who started the trend of mixing a jazz in the neck position with a musicman in the bridge position?

  7. Dan Lakin has said he got the idea from the Warwick Dolphin bass. But, I'm not sure if Warwick was the first to use that pickup configuration.

  8. Luis - YOU make that bass sound great! Thanks for posting the music files.

    very cool sounding bass.
i like the 1st one and last one the best.

  11. Natural with rosewood board looks great. Best Skyline color combo I've seen yet, IMO.

Great sound clips too. I'm not much for slap, but you've definitely got it going on.

Asi me gusta, ver a los latinos en este foro!

And people say the Bart MM pickup isn't aggressive? What kind of crack are they smoking? :)

    Sure as shootin' works for me on my 55-02, too. Its maple fretboard just makes it all the more badass if you want it that way. Maybe those comments are really rooted in the same old story;

    - It ain't the machine, it's the operator

Your samples sound fine to me, Luis. Slap dat thang silly!!!

    Thanks to all.

Hey Rickbass, do you think the maple fingerboard really makes a difference on this basses?
I was going for maple, but decided on rosewood to have a little more versatility in the "warm" department. Does the Maple one get warm?
