I cruised into Guitar Center the other day to noodle around on 6 string basses. The down side is they only had one 6 in stock. The up side is that it was an used Peavey Cirrus 6 redwood in new/mint condition. They asked $1270, but I ended up walking with the bass for $950. I felt it was a fair price for such an underrated axe. What a beaut!

Congrats man! I've got the redwood 4 and you're absolutely right that it's a very underrated axe. More people will find out as time goes on.

nice grab man! post some pics when you get around to it.

  5. Great bass, congrats! I just sold mine (which I bought a few months ago) - not because there was anything wrong with it, but because I've always played 4's and decided I'd rather have a good 4-string Jazz, so I'm ordering a Hotwire Dann Glenn Jazz instead.

    Nice catch:D

The Redwood Cirrus 6 is my favorite Cirrus. Bet that makes you happy knowing that, huh?;)

Great deal on a very good bass.

The last Cirrus 6 I saw at GC had the price set at $1300.

I said "That's definitely a good price, definitely a good price. Definitely...

    15 minutes til Wopner!!"

    I still didn't buy it;)

Nice bass. Congrats. I played a couple of Peavey's & they're not bad. The one I played has a J/MM pup config. Is the pictured one look like the one you have, meaning same finish?

His is Redwood, isn't it? Redwood looks...redder, kind of like Padauk from a distance.

Brad is correct, the one I have is the Redwood/Alder. Here's the attached jpg file from the peavey website, which does not really do it full justice.

    Nice buy. Congrats.

I have a question, though: Since when does GC sell Peavey? The one in my area has never had a Peavey bass ever, except for the occasional used one.

I try my best but like your signature states, "You could be wrong." LOL!!!:):D

Hey Will, I don't think they're a Peavey dealer. Digagroove got the occasional used one. :) Sam Ash has lots of Peavey's nowadays!!!!

  19. Hi Xavier,
do you mean a fretless jazz with just a p.u. in bridge position?

  20. Just seen the dedicated thread and luthier's site.
Not to be picky, but what Hotwire got more compared to:
Sadowsky, Lull, Celinder, Lakland, Moon basses just to name the first ones that come to my mind?
